PlantCML and Avaya Collaborate on Public Safety Communications
Industry leader PlantCML with Avaya Public Safety Communications
update 9-1-1 operations for faster response to emergency calls
and streamlined processes using today’s technologies

Temecula, CA — PlantCML, North America’s leading provider of crisis communications and response technologies, today announced its Sentinel® CM call processing solution has been certified for interoperability with Avaya Public Safety Communications Solutions. Avaya Public Safety Communications Solutions are integrated communications technologies that enable 9-1-1 operations handle the growing number and types of communications used by citizens today, pool resources and streamline process to better serve their communities.

PlantCML’s Sentinel® CM helps public safety communications operations utilizing an Avaya Communication Manager to handle incoming 9-1-1 calls with speed and precision, improving operational efficiency and expediting response times. The application/technology has been lab-tested for interoperability and ease of implementation by Avaya, and supports a number of existing 9-1-1 operations today.

“The integration of PlantCML’s Sentinel® CM with Avaya Communication Manager provides Public Safety Access Points with the leading edge in 9-1-1 call taking applications and communications infrastructure, ensuring our customers the speed and reliability vital to emergency response,” said Jeff Gillan, director of product line management, PlantCML. “The IP capabilities of this solution facilitate the easy adoption of NG9-1-1, making it right for today and ready for tomorrow.”

One of the organizations benefiting from the integration of Sentinel® CM with Avaya Public Safety Communications Solutions is the Office of Unified Communications, Washington, DC. Located in the U.S. Capitol, the Unified Communications Center (UCC) is a nerve center for federal and district communications, and a place of refuge for district employees in the event of a disaster or emergency. The facility houses emergency response "command and control" functions, such as police, fire, emergency medical services, the Emergency Operations Center and public services, handling hundreds of thousands of 9-1-1 and 3-1-1 non-emergency calls each year.

“Here in the District, since implementing PlantCML’s Sentinel/Avaya solution into our Public Safety network, we have markedly improved our performance metrics while realizing a cost savings as a direct result of the more efficient call processing capabilities of this gear. Basically, it’s enabled us to perform at a much higher level without increasing staff or resources “, said Greg Morris, telecommunications manager for Government of the District of Columbia, Office of Unified Communications.

PlantCML, now an EADS North America company, is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program—an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

“By testing multi-vendor solutions before they are deployed in the field, Avaya and members of the DevConnect program like PlantCML help ensure businesses and organizations can efficiently add best-in-class technologies, reduce complexity and implementation timelines,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya. “
